The Nordeste, an elixir of Brazilian myths.
From an administrative standpoint, the Northeast of Brazil (Nordeste) consists of the point of Brazil, from São Luis, at the extreme northwest, to the point of the state of Bahia at the Southeast.
This immense territory, one of the densest and richest in Brazil, is too varied to present it as one.
Taking some liberties with geography, we have chosen to divide it in three areas, named Bahia & Salvador, North, and Nordeste.
Our Nordeste stretches from Fortaleza to Recife, and even though it only represents a fraction of the gigantic Brazilian territory, it hides immeasurable wealth. Think about it…
The Nordeste, a wealth of emotions
We are here on the territory of the “Cangaceiros”, the legendary bandits of the mythical Sertão, the arid interior of this land.
It is here that the buggy found it’s major expression, on the deserted beaches and the long multi-colored cliffs of the littoral between Natal and Fortaleza.
It is from here also that we can take-off towards the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha, remaining today as wild as when discovered by Darwin in the 19th Century.
Here finally, we pass in a few minutes from the swarming and overheated Recife to beautiful Olinda, one of the best-preserved colonial expression of Brazil.
