One gets about on foot or by horse carriage (there are no motor vehicles on the island) and electricity has only been installed recently. And at the rear end of this earthly paradise, far from the tiny Algodoal fishermen's village, we find “the Garden of Eden”, a peaceful haven, which offers the traveler an opportunity to truly relax. This dream place is surprisingly almost unknown. A guaranteed different experience in unique scenery with walks in the mangroves to exercise or simply for interest.
We stay in an assorted collection of accommodation, composed of tiny pavilions in a surprising gothic style, surrounding a main building, a sort of big wooden chalet on stilts, built on the beach, facing the sea. This privileged place is almost completely unknown. It guarantees a change in surroundings between doing nothing at all and walks to the mangrove or the interior of the island. |
